Vintage Sports Car Club Spectacular
Saturday, August 08, 2009
Calling all Veteran, Edwardian, Vintage & pre-war Lanchesters. Calling all Veteran, Edwardian, Vintage & pre-war Daimlers. Calling all Edwardian, Vintage & pre-war BSAs. Calling all owners who want a great day out!
The Vintage Sports-Car Club’s 75th Anniversary is to be marked by a week-long celebration this year. It begins on Sunday 2nd August with the world-famous Prescott Hill Climb in Gloucestershire. During the subsequent week, events such as driving tests, tours, navigational rallies, races, sprints, wine tasting, food tasting, country house tasting and much more will take place every day and evening for VSCC members.
The VSCC celebrations close on 8th August with their pre-war ‘Saturday Spectacular’, from 8.30am to 4.30pm and ....... you are invited!
Held at the Three Counties Showground in the shadow of the glorious Malvern Hills in Worcestershire, hundreds of pre-war cars of every conceivable make will be attending. Just to walk round and drool over these exhibits will make your attendance worthwhile but there is more.
An autojumble, driving tests, gymkhana, concours, historic sports-car parade, tug-a-car, veteran cycle display, ‘giant picnic’ with big band accompaniment, cycle car display, hot air balloon, air display, fly-past, prize-giving and more are already on the agenda.
The VSCC and DLOC invite you to participate with your pre-war car, whether you are members or not, as the aim is to see old friends, meet new people and generally have a great time (no one would actually object to owners joining either club on the day, however, if they insisted!).
As there will be competition for space at the massive site, the necessary area for all our cars has to be marked out in advance, so early applications are required. We would be delighted to welcome you there but do not write in if you not 100% able to attend, as your non-arrival will have prevented someone else from attending. Please spread the word to any owners of pre-war Lanchesters, Daimlers and BSAs; everyone is welcome. There is no admission charge planned.
Please send full details of yourself and your pre-war car + s.a.e. for your admission pass.
I look forward to seeing you there.
